Log Burning Stove Installation — Harrogate

The Situation

A Harrogate customer with no existing stove and no chimney system, wanting a log burner installed from scratch.

What We Did

Built a full twin-wall flue system from scratch, running out through the wall and up the side of the property, fully compliant with building regulations. The property sits within a smoke control area, so stove and flue selection had to satisfy DEFRA’s requirements for smoke control zones specifically — not every stove is permitted in every location, and getting this wrong isn’t a small mistake. We installed a new granite hearth, commissioned the stove, and made good all disturbed wall plaster before leaving.

The Result

A fully compliant, safely installed log burner in a property that had no existing infrastructure for one at all — done right the first time, with the regulatory detail (smoke control zone compliance, twin-wall flue routing) that a lot of installers overlook.

Boiler Replacement — Harrogate

The Situation

A Harrogate customer had a separate water heater and separate central heating boiler, both broken, with one appliance hung around 10ft up a wall making access genuinely difficult. Other companies had turned the job down due to the complexity of integrating the two appliances — she’d been without hot water for 4 months by the time she called us.

What We Did

Removed both old appliances, rerouted the existing pipework, installed a new gas run, and bricked up the old flue holes.

The Result

A job other companies wouldn’t take on, resolved in 2 days from start to finish — after 4 months without hot water. This is the kind of job that shows why “we don’t want to get involved” from other companies doesn’t mean it can’t be done properly.

See our Boiler Installation page for how we approach jobs like this.
