Solar Control Window Film — Knaresborough
The Situation
Referred to us by a blinds and shutter company we regularly work alongside, after their shutters alone weren’t going to provide enough solar rejection to solve the problem. The room, used as a home office, had gotten so hot that it had already melted an expensive keyboard and damaged furniture — measured at 42°C internally before any work was done.
What We Did
Installed solar control window film, then followed up with an air conditioning unit to manage the remaining heat load.
The Result
Internal temperature dropped from 42°C to below 30°C with film alone, and the room now runs at an optimum 16–18°C with the air conditioning in place. The film also preserved full visibility and didn’t drastically reduce natural light — it removed the intense glare specifically, not the room’s brightness.
